Welcome to Woodham Athletic Football Club
Paul Fisher & Ian Harris started running the team in the 2002/03 season when we kicked off with Mini Soccer in the Chelmsford Youth Football League (CYFL) at Under 8. Many of the current squad have remained with the club since that time and we enjoyed early success in winning the League Championship at U8, U9 & U10.
The move to 11-a-side allowed us to strengthen the squad and with Paul Geden’s help the boys were CYFL Division 1 runners up in our first season. Dave Ellis joined the coaching team following Paul’s departure to New Zealand in 2006 and he has played a pivotal role in the boys winning our first CYFL Cup Final in the 2006-07 season.
The club ethos is to play exciting, attacking football, respecting our opponents whilst having fun and as a result the Team enjoy excellent support from family & friends in all weathers.
